You may know the show, now enjoy the rugged visuals of Vikings, the new licenced slot game from NetEnt.
Where To Play
Vikings packs a punch with its Nordic theme, complete with images from the hit TV series and a pile of features.
This game comes with the usual 5-reel, 3-row grid but you get 243 ways to win as well. That means no paylines.
Feature wise, there is a Hotspot Feature, a Shield Wall Feature, Raid Spins symbols and a special Raid Spins mode but more on that later.
Bet anywhere from 0.20 to 200 per spin. There’s also an autoplay function.
In the main game, you play with a 5×3 grid. But during the Raid Spins bonus, this turns into a 7×5 reel set. This increases your potential ways to win from 243 to 78,125!
There are three features in Vikings:
- Hotspot Feature
Trigger this feature when one of the characters have their Viking symbols fully stacked in a Hotspot on the third reel. It will substitute all other Vikings symbols, increase your chances of winning.
- Shield Wall Feature
This feature triggers during the base game or Raid Spins feature. It’s a random occurrence where a wall of Viking shields form anywhere on the reels and transform into other symbols and if you’re lucky, could generate some more wins.
- Raid Spins Feature
Ah, the pièce de résistance (or whatever that is in Old Norse). Unlock this feature when you trigger 3 or more Raid Symbols on your grid. Then the big game starts – the grid opens up to7 reels, 5 rows and 78,125 different ways to win. You get 7 Raid Spin and 3 Hotspots on reels 3, 4 and 5. Landing one of the fully stacked Viking symbols on the Hotspots changes adjacent Viking symbols into the same ones, with the potential to charge up that big win.
The house edge is a valiant 3.95% which will have you roaring in victory.
The graphics and animations are stunning and capture the essence of the TV series. The ability to enlarge the “playing field” is the biggest draw – from 243 winning lines to 78,125 is monstrous!
I’m also a fan of the large range of betting amounts. The game has a medium-to-high variance so players with larger bankrolls will see better returns the more they play.
But if you’re that serious about playing, you might want to look elsewhere. This one’s for the gritty and determined players.
